The first Philornis workshop was held in 2012. Since then, a considerable amount of
research has been conducted to develop tools for the management of Philornis downsi.
Furthermore, the Philornis working group has grown and now consists of 15 member
institutions from 8 countries. Given this progress, a second workshop was considered
necesary to:
1) Share the results of research conducted between 2012 to 2015;
2) Assess the progress of the research and management plan for the control of P. downsi
in the Galapagos Islands.
3) Identify new areas of research that should be included in the research plan
