| Summary, etc. | En octubre de 1982 las características proprias del fenómeno El Niño se presentaron, notándose cambios en el clima de Galápagos. Se incrementaron notablemente las precipitaciones y se elevó la temperatura del aire y del mar más allá de lo habitual. Estas condiciones desaparecieron a partir de agosto de 1983 de manera rápida. Los registros meteorológicos de temperatura del aire, temperatura del mar y precipitación para 1982 y 1983 en Galápagos se comparan con el promedio de los ańos 1979 a 1981. |

| Summary, etc. | In October 1982, El Niño conditions appeared in the Galápagos Islands. There was a considerable increase in rainfall, air temperature, and sea surface temperature. These conditions ceased abruptly in August 1983. Meteorological records of air and ocean temperatures and rainfall for the years 1982 and 1983 are plotted and compared with mean values for the years 1979 to 1981. |
