Summary, etc.	El objetivo de la presente investigación es examinar los factores que han<br/>influido en la calidad educativa, entendida en un sentido amplio y multi-<br/>dimensional, en América Latina a partir de los años 2000. La calidad tiene<br/>relación con los resultados exitosos de aprendizaje y con las oportunidades<br/>educativas para toda la población del nivel escolar (hasta sexto grado de<br/>básica). En el estudio enfatizamos las condiciones pedagógicas del aula, la<br/>infraestructura, los recursos educativos, las características de los niños y las<br/>niñas, de docentes, de directivos de la escuela, y el nivel socioeconómico<br/>del hogar.<br/>Para ello, utilizamos varias aproximaciones teóricas y metodológicas,<br/>utilizando información estandarizada en el ámbito internacional. Las<br/>pruebas Segundo Estudio Regional Comparativo y Explicativo (SERCE)1<br/>y Tercer Estudio Regional Comparativo y Explicativo (TERCE)2 nos<br/>permiten comparar los datos de la mayoría de los países latinoameri-<br/>canos en dos momentos del tiempo.
