Summary, etc.
R. niveus.
Summary, etc. Simulated herbivory can be used to obtain a preliminary criterion for the selection of effective agents for the biological control of weeds. This study examines the simulated effect of herbivory, by means of a range of artificial defoliation treatments (0-100%) on the growth and reproduction of Rubus niveus Thunb. These treatments were done on two independent trails. Artificial defoliation proportionally affected the plants growth and reproduction. Defoliation of 50% or more could be considered as an impact threshold when selecting potential biological control agents for R. niveus. The results of this study must be compared with natural herbivory studies
