Summary, etc.	El pinzón de manglar (Camarhynchus heliobates) es el más raro de las 13 especies de pinzones de Darwin endémicas a las islas Galápagos (Dvorak et al., 2004; Fessl et. al., 2010a & 2010b). Clasificado en la actualidad como Críticamente Amenazado por la Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, con una población estimada en 100 individuos, es primordial llevar adelante actividades de manejo de conservación para prevenir su extinción. Distribuido históricamente en los manglares de Isabela y Fernandina (Dvorak et al., 2004), el pinzón de manglar está ahora restringido a 30 Ha de manglar en el noroeste de Isabela en Playa Tortuga Negra (PTN) y Caleta Black (CB). Hubo una población en bahía Cartago hasta 2009; sin embargo, los recientes intentos para localizar a estas aves han fracasado.
